Henrietta Street by jack4john

Henrietta Street

Henrietta Street, was one of the great Georgian streets of Dublin, but when the Gentry move to the outskirts, The great houses they left were divided up, where one family lived by the early 1900's as many as 20 family's would be crammed in. by 1910. Poverty and disease made inner city Dublin one of the places with a very low life life expectancy. New Housing in the 1950 left these streets empty again, the next dwellers were a mix of students and hippies. This street is now more commonly used as a film set than as a residential area. Standing there it feels as if the city is deserted, but for the sound of traffic, it could be. Wouldn't that be interesting? being the only person in the city with charged batteries and a large sd card...On black ( if you have the time) it feels as if you are there,,,
I would have thought they would be turned into luxury inner city flats! Lovely iron work here!

Seems such a waste that they're just sitting there empty. Cool capture looks great on black

Great POV and love the 'bend'. Shows to me that these structures are willing to be flexible. Hope they get used again but also respected for their beauty.
