Sandycove by jack4john

Sandycove

The tower with the flag is the setting for the opening lines of James Joyce's "Ullyses". It's in the pretty Dublin suburb of Sandycove, and is a museum dedicated to the novelist . The white ship like house beneath it was built in 1938 by the Architect Michael Scott, It must have raised a few eyebrows in prewar Ireland. Joyce's wife was a Galway girl Nora Barnacle, she lived a remarkable life both before and after meeting the author. If anybody has any interest Brenda Maddox wrote a wonderful biography of Nora, A happy Halloween to all the 365 family..
So many different types of buildings in this image, nice the tilt shift feel. Still wanting to read the Ulysses, I think I've got a pocket somewhere.
