The tower with the flag is the setting for the opening lines of James Joyce's "Ullyses". It's in the pretty Dublin suburb of Sandycove, and is a museum dedicated to the novelist . The white ship like house beneath it was built in 1938 by the Architect Michael Scott, It must have raised a few eyebrows in prewar Ireland. Joyce's wife was a Galway girl Nora Barnacle, she lived a remarkable life both before and after meeting the author.
