This is a place I have featured before, it's Thor Ballylee in South county Galway, about 25km from home. It's a place I like to go for a bit of peace. The tower was the home of Poet WB Yeats about 100 years ago and is now a tourist site in the summer months . In winter the river can flood, though not so far this year, yet. Yeats called one of his collections" The Tower",( if you can find a 1st edition with it's green and gold cover, buy it). A visiting American poet called it a thin place a few years back . A thin place she said is a place where you can feel it's history if you listen. The low winter sun was warm but go in the shade and it was cold. I took a few pictures and liked this best with the sun breaking through the bare trees. thanks for taking the time..
I really love the pov in this and the sunburst, although one can still feel the cold with the bare branches. What an interesting story, too. A thin place... interesting concept.
Interesting image (I mean the poetry title). Well lived in homes are probably thin places. In any event, I like the light on the ground in the woods and also on the water.
Beautiful processing of this thin place, nice thought of the American.
