Postcard from the past

I have this old postcard which was posted in Prague in 1934.The scene it depicts is completely unchanged. Think of the change the city has undergone in the same time though, brutal Nazi occupation , brutal communist oppression, the Prague spring of 1968., which was crushed by the Warsaw pact. Freedom finally arriving in 1989 with the velvet revolution.Oh the folly of dictators you can not crush the spirit of people, no matter how big your army.
Such a thoughtful combination of image and words, John. Well done! Going into my favorites.

Considering all of the unrest that has been brought down on Prague in the past 100 years, it's amazing that parts of it are so unchanged. I have never been, but it's definitely on my bucket list.
