We were today at the beach and I could see that our dunes are eroding, that is why our country is always at work to improve on the dunes and protect them.
A very interesting shot Jacqueline - we also have erosion problems on our beaches - but our vegetation for holding the sand is slightly different. I like the POV you used to show how the grass functions.
@robz Thanks Rob, they use marram grass to keep the sand in place. @suesmith Thank you Sue, it was very windy :) @pyrrhula Bedankt Ferry! @sugarmuser Thank you Sharon!
I was wondering if you would be able to do the 'E' word and you nailed it so well with this great shot! I really like how you are showing the grass roots holding the sand back. It explains it all!
Erosion has been with us forever. The Blue Ridge Mountains in the Appalachians are one of the oldest mountain ranges in the world and have eroded over the eons give them the wonderful character they have today.
Sadly – or maybe not- but this shoreline will be much different eons from now with or without our help!
