Juvenile bald eagle screeching. His mother came by and they both flew off - I was hoping she would feed him a fish. Fun to watch this youngster learning to fly and hunt. He/she is a HUGE baby.
@seahorsejenn - Thanks. This was also with out a tripod. I took my tripod down after work - and he was still there - but it was dark enough all I got was his sillouette.
@bristolrose - thanks Kathryn. When the sun comes out it's lovely - we get a lot of gloomy days - but we have eagles to make up for it. :-) @pflaume - Thanks Lisa - he was squawking loudly enough to get his mother's attention - he sits on t his branch often and yesterday my hubby saw him eating a fish on it. It borders the river where we live.
@sansjuan - Thanks Nita. They often put dead salmon in the river for the newly hatched alevins (baby salmon) to feed on - and the eagles take advantage. We don't see many - typically one air and their young - there only seems to be one young one at the moment.
