Too wet to go outside but this bloom from my Dawn Viburnum was bobbing against the window. This shrub starts flowering in December. It's also fragrant. The shrub itself isn't very pretty but I can live with that for fragrant pink blossoms in winter.
Beautiful, Jan! I have a white viburnum -- went through a couple before I found one fragrant enough. Will be waiting another 2-3 months for mine, though. Thanks for sharing this beauty!
@steampowered@pflaume@mamamia @bristolrose - thank you! :-) @carolb - I wonder if it's a viburnum tinus? Interesting plant with so many different cultivars. I have several and they are all completely different. Some fragrant and some not. Love them! @maggiemae - yes it is interesting how you can just tell when some plants have a lovely scent.
@anwan@paul2782@missk - thanks guys. Anwan - I am maybe the only person in the world who can't stand popcorn - lol - the smell of it grosses me out. Now raspberry popcorn would be interesting.
I think I had some sort of a candied popcorn ball once, with fruit flavor--it tasted very wrong to me, but that may be the only popcorn you'd like. The idea of viburnums smelling like popcorn is so wrong.
@bristolrose - thank you! :-)
