I am a little behind with commenting - hectic few days.
We went hiking today - only did about three miles and 600ft elevation gain. The weather was bright and sunny with rolling clouds.
This is a side slope of Mt Rainier. The peak in the middle is Panorama Point where we got to last week.
If you enlarge you will see some hikers in the middle - look for a red jacket.
Gorgeous photo. I like that you can get these beautiful shots and don't have to wait for the people to get out of the way because you can't really see them anyway! ;~}
@sansjuan - Thanks Nita. No wheels except strollers and wheelchairs - the paths are narrow and you are not allowed to step off as it damages the wildflowers. They are also extremely steep and marmots and other critters come out in front of you without warning so it's a safety thing. You can ride up from the main gate - 18 miles but it's several thousand feet in elevation and the road is narrow. We see cyclists doing it - but it would be brutal - not to mention nerve wracking because of all the hairpin bends with no shoulder. Also dogs are not allowed on the trails.
@dakotaburns@cazann@paulaw@taffy@38dcmoder@susale@paintdipper@pflaume - thanks for the lovely comments! @eyesmile - thanks Gena - We are 45 miles one way to the visitor center - in summer we make the 90 miles round trip often. Once we get there we hike anywhere from two to five miles. Not yet fit enough for the longer hikes.
