Cans Cans Cans

Went to the recycle center to drop off bottles and cardboard. A visit here is eye opening - - - everywhere you look, bottles, cans, scrap metal, glass, and on and on and on. This is a section of a stack of crushed aluminum cans 8 feet square on a side and 14 feet high. There are dozens of these at the center on any given day. A sobering example of the impact of waste on the environment. At least these are being recycled but it seems a losing battle.

A perfect quote. Makes one think twice about consumerism.

Holy cow, I thought it was an abstract at first! Where in the world did you find a recycle center? All the ones down south here seem to have closed shop. Great capture!

But at least they are being recycled and not ending up in dumps, landfills, and oceans!

That is definitely a lot of recycling! Not only is it good for the environment but is also good for Art! This is a beautifully abstract photo. FAV

Recycling here is a challenge, as everything needs to be transported out. Still, I try. Yesterday I learned you can recycle old, worn out Christmas lights, but only seasonally here. When faced with landfill waster, or recycle, I'm going to try recycle, though it is a challenge and seems a losing battle.
