♪ ♫ Me and My Shadow, Riding Down the Avenue! ♪♫ ♫♪

Actually it's Nadine and her shadow riding along the Potomac River approaching Memorial Bridge. Several FB friends helped choose this photo and Diane wrote with the caption.

Nadine and I rode along the river from Key Bridge to Old Town Alexandria on this sunny spring day. We were pleasantly surprised to find the path over the Humpback Bridge complete enough to bike on instead of the detour that has been there for a long time (a year maybe?). But we were disappointed to find a new detour under the Wilson Bridge and a very unobtrusive warning sign at the entrance to the bike path. We rode a ways before finding a dead end with detour signs.

The weeping willows are bright green with new growth. We could see some cherry trees beginning to bloom across the river near the 14th St bridge. The tidal basin will be ablaze in pink blossoms very soon.

Spring has sprung, the grass has riz, and I know where the Nadine is! How nicely the early spring willow frames her, riding along the river into spring! Nice sharp shadow captures the bike.
