Meg

I saw Meg today for the first time in quite awhile. Four weeks ago, she broke both wrists while working out at the gym. Amazing that she can smile like that after what she has been through.

It's hard to imagine living without using either hand, but she has gotten through the worst. She even painted today--one of the best in her workshop.

She had surgery on her left wrist the day after her accident and the cast has been off that arm for about a week. The cast will come off her right arm soon, too. PT is painful and healing will take awhile. We look forward to biking with Meg again in June.
I like this photo of Meg very much- the wisps of hair, the smile, the well-known face. But the smile; you'e good at capturing the genuine ones. Neatly framed in the stained glass, too.

I don't know Meg but I love the way you captured the sparkle in her eyes and her face radiates happiness. Not to be nosy but how did she break both wrists. I go to the gym every day and I bike and don't want to do whatever she did.

Meg was keeping her heart rate high between weight sets by stepping up and down on a box (taller than a regular step). After about 15 reps, she stepped on the edge of the box. lost her balance and flew forward, landing on her wrists. Casts on both arms, surgery the next day to add a platinum plate to her left. Hard to function without using either arm. Don't realize what we take for granted until it's gone. But she is recovering well and even painted the day I took this photo (4 weeks after the accident).

Amazing lady...reminder for all of us to be more careful. Balance is essential. My best to her. Thank you for sharing.
