I've known Betsy since 7th grade; I've known Ingrid since 1980. The three of us shared a series of three houses from 1980 until my husband and I bought this house in 1983. The first house we shared was just a few blocks away from where I live now, the second about a mile from here, and the third was in Adams Morgan. To me, it felt like we were a family rather than just roommates. We still keep in touch, but I don't think the three of us have all been together since Ingrid's 50th birthday party in Princeton, NJ.
I'm cheating a little with this shot because I didn't take it, but I had to use it since this was such a special occasion. I didn't touch up anything on the people, but I did de-clutter the background. We were in a bit of a rush to take this and a blank background was not immediately apparent.
