I still haven't finished processing photos from Thursday, but this one looks pretty cool. I've never seen a fly this close before. Didn't realize how many colors were on a fly's body before. I took this with a macro lens and cropped quite a bit but was amazed at the details. I always love seeing things in photos that you can't see with a naked eye, whether it's because you don't have time to study them or because your eyes just can't see that close. At least mine can't now that I need reading glasses for anything close.
Looks like a Green-bottle fly. I am always amazed at how hairy bugs look when you can look at them so close! :) I like the lighting in this picture. (M)
@smithfamily@katiecogan Thank you! I took this in the late afternoon. I went back to Lynn's garden to photograph the canna leaves and had to wait until the sun was low enough to shine through them. While I waited around, I photographed more bees and bugs on the plants. I lightened up the fly's body a bit in post processing.
Our spider would enjoy this lunch ;-) (N)
