I finally made it to the zoo today with my telephoto lens. I spent most of my time watching the seven playful lion cubs and their father. I haven't finished sorting my photos yet, but I knew this tiger shot would be good when I took it. The woman next to me said I must be getting some good shots because the tiger seemed to be posing for me. I didn't crop this at all.
I got some good shots of the lions, apes, and spectators. I will probably use one as filler on a slow photo day. And eventually I'll get around to posting them on flickr with a link here.
@drewhedden Thank you! I waited a long time to get this shot. He was hiding behind a tree a the top of the hill when I arrived. I came back a few times and he finally ventured out so we could see him. I guess I wouldn't like people watching my every move either, but I was glad he got so close and I got lucky to catch his tongue in the water.
