Reading in Hammock by jbritt

Reading in Hammock

I actually took this shot today (Fri 7/15), but it represents what I did yesterday. I received a tiny bit of criticism from three of my volunteer projects yesterday and decided I should take some time to pamper myself. The weather was GORGEOUS--cool, dry, and sunny--so I had to be outside. I haven't read a novel in quite awhile, so I read a mystery on my Nook--"Baltimore Blues" by Laura Lippman. Reading purely for pleasure, not to learn anything, felt so decadent (and fun). And practically all day. I finished the whole book and I'm ready for the second in the series.

I did get a few things done around the house yesterday, but I didn't take any photos and I didn't work on those volunteer projects.

I didn't want a straight shot of me in the hammock, so I took a long exposure while the hammock swung back and forth. I had to try a few times to get the pose right and to keep the camera mostly steady while the hammock swayed. This shows the (paper) book that I was reading this evening instead of the electronic book that I read yesterday. But it still represents yesterday pretty well.

If you look closely, you can see a mosquito on my right leg. That's what chased me inside this evening just before dark. We have another cool dry evening. If only this would last all summer.
