Antichinus by jeneurell

Antichinus

I put my new found etching skills into practise and made an etching of an Antichinus (which is a marsupial mouse) for the After Dark exhibition at Mary Cairncross Reserve at Maleny, starting on Sept 1st. Many years ago I had gone mammal trapping with fellow ecology students in Canberra. Despite a lot of students and traps we only had one catch - an Antichinus with a clutch of tiny pink babies in her pouch. She was returned quickly to the wild - but till a few weeks ago I had no idea that there were Antichinus' in Queensland as well.
Fabulous etching, I love your work.

@onewing @hermann Thanks you for the comment. I like doing metal etching plates but don't like nitric acid - so was pleased to find out about copper sulphate etching - which is much safer. I was also pleased to sell one copy of my Antichinus at the exhibition.
