Woo hoo Canada here I come

At long last my ETA has come through. It has only taken 6 weeks. I made the mistake of saying I was diabetic and then had to register with the Canadian govt and fill out a medical form. I began to think I would never get one. Now I can book my next Canadian holiday.
When are you coming to Canada and what part are you visiting

That's great. If you have the opportunity to be in Edmonton let us know. My wife and I would be more than willing to meet up and show you around

@bkbinthecity Thank you. It would be great to meet you both even if it is only for a coffee. We have booked most of september in Canada.

Fantastic. We cruised the inside passage some years ago, and it still remains one of the best experiences ever!

@wag864 every one I talk to says that. we Have never done a cruise before so are a bit ignorant about the gratuities etc. Not sure which trips to do either

Everybody has their own preference, but we always prepay gratuities. We find it easier, and saves trying to work it all out at the end of the cruise. You will have lots of trips to choose from - from whale watching to helicopter trips to bear trips to stunning glacier trips! It wil be fabulous!

@wag864 how do you prepay. we are with Holland America line

We use Celebrity and Princess and it is included in the price - with the option of being removed; some folks like to pay direct to the staff on the last evening. However, if not prepaid the cruise line will likely automatically add it to your on board account - check their website and it should give you an idea of amount. Most on board purchses will also have a gratuity tax applied - food and drinks. (Not shop purchases.) K.

@wag864 Yes I think I made a mistake going with holland america as in the long run celebrity would have been cheaper. The agent did say the gratuities were included. Never thought about it t the time. We have been given $350 to our account . it may cover it, not sure. did see on the web site a daily rate

Check with the agent. If they said gratuities were included, I'd go back to them and check - because then you don't have to budget for them. If the onboard credit is to cover this then i'm sure it will be enough. You will have a great time on HA. I used to have a travel agency, and HA always had a great reputation.
