Come sit in the sunny window! Ok, so it doesn't look like the most comfortable chair. But I just love the clean lines of this very old rocking chair (with a restored seat).
This chair is something special - a shaker furniture. I do not know if this is a replica or an original chair from a shaker workshop. What the shakers created in terms of architecture and product design is highly valued by designers and architects in Europe. It is timeless, practical and shapely design.
I would like to sit down in a shaker chair and experience the feeling of sitting (in this case also rocking feeling).
For many years, I've been thinking of visiting the areas where the shakers lived. In the fall I would like to do this - and experience the Indian summer, hiking in the woods. That would be nature and culture in one.
