Rowntree Park, York, under water yet again. The 2 rivers are high but I believe no properties have been inundated but the Ouse isn't due to peak until 3am tomorrow.

@markp it’s about 4.55m above normal so the risk of flooding is high. We have 2 rivers which used to protect York from enemies in ancient times. The city is still as open as a city is allowed to be in these strange and challenging times.
I’m so sorry to hear about the flooding and all the problems it must be causing but it does present you with a fabulous photo opportunity. This is an awesome capture.
@susiemc thank you. I’m far enough away from potential floods - if my house flooded we’d get Noah on the job - for the rising water to be just a photo opportunity. But sometimes it does go dreadfully wrong, not just in York of course and homes can be ruined and even lives lost.
@moviegal1@koalagardens@bkbinthecity@s4sayer many thanks. York floods several times a year. We have the 2 rivers and the flow down from the dales. Trees removed, peat dug up....
Our last major event was Christmas 2015 when the waters got into the city and many properties were flooded and damaged. Even that wasn’t the highest recorded. The King’s Arms pub by the riverside is always on the telly and the marker inside shows just how high the flood waters reached. Can’t remember which year.
