Ophion luteus parasitic wasp larva emerging from a first instar Mullein moth caterpillar.
The egg may have been laid when the caterpillar was itself an egg, or shortly after it emerged.
The parasite grew inside the Mullein, leaving only the most essential parts of the hapless host until it emerged. The caterpillar is still more or less alive and will guard the Ophion Luteus for the remainder of its all too brief life.
