In Bush Alaska all school related visitors sleep in the schools, in the classrooms. They do provide sleeping bags and air mattresses. None of the villages have hotels. Our district flies all employees into the hub in the fall for Inservice training and, young or old, we all sleep on the floor!!
I've just spent a most enjoyable hour going back through your pictures - such a wonderful tale of life in your part of Alaska - what a beautiful place and interesting change to life in the lower 48.
@tigerdreamer Only in Alaska! LOL! @janemartin It truly IS amazing! @jesperani@thistle 5 nights...5 long nights. @vignouse Too funny, Richard! Sometimes it seems that way! @seattlite Thank you, Gloria! @wendyfrost not that great, really! @moonmtn In my village, Kahsia, 100% of our students are Inupiaq Eskimo, which is considered Native American. @milaniet Thank you so much for taking the time! It has been a wonderful adventure! @cruiser Good description!
