Ship Creek, Anchorage by jetr

Ship Creek, Anchorage

More fun with night photography - one of my learning goals this year. It was a foggy, cloudy evening, and I liked how the street lamps glowed in the mist.
Love night photos you often get amazing effects with very little effort. To make life a bit easier for yourself get a large flat beanbag(or make one with rice) and use that as a support instead of a tripod. Remote shutter release is essential as it cuts out any camera shake. Good luck.

VML the chocolate brown shade of the water and the bushes on the bank.

I like this - try B&W too as it gets rid of the mixed colour balance problems.

@padlock Wow! Thank you for the great tips! I was using a self-timer delay because I didn't have my remote with me, which I don't really know how to use anyway! Thanks for your advice!
@s4sayer Thank you, Margo!
@vignouse Thanks Richard...I'm googling "mixed color balance" because I don't even know what that means...I have SOOOO much to learn!! I will post a bw version of this tomorrow. Thanks for the tip!
