I don't think this worked well, but I was deadset on tiltshifting something for today's upload. No, I wasn't in Aswan, Egypt today. This is the photo that inspired me to try it myself:
I tried and tried to tiltshift some of my pyramid shots, but wasn't happy with those either. This was the only one I thought worked, kind of: http://flic.kr/p/9CpG6K.
I'm currently situated in Victoria, having previously lived in Beijing, Halifax, Chilliwack, Calgary, Vancouver and growing up in Northwestern Ontario. My aim with photography is...
I think it worked wonderfully. Not all photos work with tiltshift but this was a very good choice because the buildings are on a straight line in the middle. Looks like a cute miniature Egyptian town - well done!
I honestly thought this was a miniature village. I just talked to my sis-in-law, Jenn@shutterbugger, to find out about this tiltshift thingy. I saw Paula's @pwallis before but had no idea what they were talking about! Very, very cool. A fav.
Very impressed!!! I have the app on my phone and I'm dying to find the right place to use it. Sounds like you did this on the computer?....which is (to me) super impresseive!!! How did you do it? I'm REALLY going to have to start playing with Photoshop!!!
It does look miniature and I like it! I've tried on a few pictures and so far I was not satisfied. I probably just need the right picture, with a lot of depth in it!
I think yours looks cute! Not perfect but I've had the same results when trying to work with some of my old travel pics. It all depends on having the right shot to work with even though I'm not 100% sure what the right shot is.
@sourkraut ~ I'm also not sure what the 'right' shot is. I thought maybe it would work better if I TOOK shots with later tiltshifting in mind. But if I can't figure out what works best, how can I plan such a shot ahead of time?! Buying a tiltshift lens would be the ultimate solution. ;) I think I'd rather have a 10-20mm or macro though...if spending a wad of money on a new lens.
Fav for sure! (I loved Aswan)
