If you do go to Cape Breton during the ‘shoulder tourist season’, you may end up wasting some of your time waiting for bird watching tours that get cancelled due to lack of customers. This happened to me, twice, with 2 different companies based out of 2 different towns. Luckily it was a beautiful day so I was able to let off some steam in a couple of nearby provincial parks while I waited. To make myself feel better about not being able to stalk puffins, I decided to spend the night at the cheapest B&B in Baddeck, rather than continue on to the next campground. Best decision ever.

@jupiterjanes ~Thanks Sarah. NL eventually came through for me in spades in terms of puffin viewing! And yes, Mother Gaelic was a lovely and helpful hostess. ;)
@janmaki ~ Hmmm...I think it was actually Lomo-ish, but I do get those 2 mixed up. I first softened and boosted the dandelion field and trees. I think Orton would've fuzzed up the clouds too.
Sweet dandy field shot! Crappy about the cancelled tours though:( That happened to us in Dominican, wasted our last whole day waiting for tour operators that never showed, and then trying to get our money back. Grrr.
