@chewyteeth ~ I haven't read anything of his, but I do know he writes about Nova Scotia/Cape Breton. Someone recently recommended his 'No Great Mischief', so that's on my list now.

@jgoldrup The one I read was a collection of short stories so easy to get into. it was about the harshness and poverty in farmsteads and fishing communities in that area, especially amongst Scottish and Irish emigrants, they were very well written and really brought the region to life, i think, although I've never been. Worth a read. Lots of lobster trap references. great pictures btw!!
