1000 Mile Walk Day 35 at the watercress beds.
By careful planning this is the first day this year that I have had to walk in heavy rain. So I whipped out my phone for a quick snap of the cress beds being covered ready for a very cold week ahead. In the past, watercress was valuable as the only salad crop that could be grown here in winter. Lettuce was considered a seasonal veg.
