I've never seen a plant like this before, and I don't know why it's called "Norman." It almost looks like a heart with valves, and the red color adds to that impression.

@cejaanderson I do not know what the plant is called; I just thought it looked so unusual.
I titled it "Norman" because a classmate in elementary school, in the suburbs of Philadelphia, had some malady which cause him to be covered with warts. I thought it looked like the leaf had warts and I immediately thought of that classmate, named Norman.

@jrambo001 Ah, poor Norman. His legacy lives on.

@cejaanderson I don't know whatever happened to him- I lost track with him when I moved to Houston in 1976. That was probably the first time I thought of him in at least 15 years!
