The wisteria at Sidney Sussex is a bit of an institution in the city and it’s coming back into its prime after being heavily pruned a few years ago to allow for repairs to the wall. Luckily for gardeners the damage was clear to see when they cut it back so they didn’t get too any complaints. The town was properly busy with shoppers yesterday. It feels busier than pre-pandemic though it’s hard to tell with reduced capacity in shops and people queuing to get in.
Weather: wet
Covid: v low percentage of vaccination in Cambridge due to the very young population makes me nervous.
Good thing: I found a very suitable pair of shoes for a difficult set of requirements. Lots of dressed up young women having a blast out together shopping - much more satisfying than the internet version.
LOVE this! I don't think wisteria grows much in this northern part of the country!! So pretty.
And yes, I agree that it's good to be able to go to shops again.
