Since Monty waited reasonably patiently while I did 'Autumn cleaning' all morning I decided to treat him (and myself!) to a trip to Bury St Edmunds for a walk around the grounds of Ickworth House. Whenever I've tried a circular route there before I've lost the trail and been a bit disappointed - this time I made the usual mistake but managed to correct myself further up and the resulting walk was just beautiful. It's been another sunny day but this time with a strong breeze to moderate the heat. There are some magnificent oak trees at Ickworth - all of them still green and healthy-looking so this was a rare find glowing on the path. I'm a bit disappointed with the focus but with Monty dashing back and forth chasing imaginary woodland creatures it was the best I could do.
Ooh this is one of our favourite places! Lovely walks where you can feel the history of the place. I must remind you to go at snowdrop time, it is fantastic! Love the glow in this picture, I must say coming home to this weather has been a real bonus. Thank you for your comments, and congrats on your wonderful mist photo of Kings college. I will catch up eventually! What's autumn cleaning?? :-)
@Cherrill Thanks Cherrill and do remind me to go at snowdrop time. Now I've worked out where I was going wrong with the walk I'll be going back more often - the views were to die for. 'Autumn cleaning' is what I should have done in the spring!!
Beautiful autumn color! Things are just beginning to change here, too ~ still lots of green on the trees. Autumn cleaning sounds like what I should be doing. :)
No I think this is wonderful focus Judith & that oak leaf is just glowing in the sunlight !! My favourite trees, I love the leaf shape & then you have the acorns too !!! The autumn cleaning sounds arduous !!!!
Oh, I'd have loved to take that walk with you :). I really have to come back :)!! I like the cropping and detail you chose and the colours are just heart-warming.
