It was so windy out in Cambourne that outdoor photography was almost impossible. It more than blew the cobwebs out. The headquarters for the Wildlife Trust are based out there and, as you'd expect, the Cambourne nature reserve is very well managed. At this time of year there are all sorts of different berries and masses of seedheads and I did see two charms of goldfinches (about 30 in all) stocking up for winter. They also have some sheep grazing to increase plant diversity - on the way home Monty remembered the route we had taken to enter the sheep field and bolted off miles back to find his woolly friends. Luckily he was distracted enough by me yelling like an old fish-wife to get foxed by the fence (which with a bit of concentration he could have squeezed through) and I managed to catch him before havoc could be wrought. Phew.
Apologies if I'm behind on commenting tonight - I had to take Rachel to get her injured knee looked at - which apparently isn't injured - it's referred pain from a pulled muscle in her leg.
lovely shot Judith - love the tones in this.
Just flicked up your othre comments and surprised Phil's letterbox alert hasn't gone off yet! LOL
Your hospital tale of the train ladies fingers made me cringe - I have recurring nightmares about that happening to me on the tube!! shiver!!
@sparkle I know - she was a bit shaky - she had high heels as well so she couldn't even have run with the train till it stopped (which apparently it showed no signs of doing). I think Phil's slipping!
Beautiful!!! Love the simplicity, colors and textures of this marvelous composition! Glad you were able to corral Monty without too much ado. And good to hear that Rachel doesn't have a new injury. Long day for you ~ sleep well. :)
You do these shots so well Judith & manage to catch every seed head ! Lovely shades & great cropping !! You did well with Monty he's obviously logged in that there is fun to be had in that field !!! Glad Rachel isn't too bad but will still be sore !
oh lovely light here again, and beautiful seedhead - yep, the birds were going mental at the weekend at ours.. never seen so many in the garden , and we get a lot, even city bound.
