A wild night has left my fence rocking precariously and the felt on the shed roof missing (again) but apart from that we've been lucky. Nobody was keen on walking today - especially not the dogs... Thanks to Gloria and Rebecca for entering the puddle with different degrees of enthusiasm so I could take a 'Wet Feet' shot. Gloria's sister lives on a cushion in Kensington - she doesn't have to go out in bad weather and NEVER gets dragged into a puddle for a photo....
If you have children under 5 look out for Rebecca's lovely new picture book, 'Not on a school night' (Rebecca Patterson) - out today in all good bookshops (in the UK, I'm not sure if the worldwide release dates are the same).
Ha great - although thats quite a tame puddle. Am ashamed to say I've just been out playing in a larger one. About to upload. Am getting into the wet feet challenge now. Especially since I've just realised that wearing wellies is the answer!
@fueast They were huge this morning but the wind is blowing so hard that they are evaporating at a rapid rate - and Gloria only has short legs... Looking forward to seeing wet knees in your shot.
You treat your dogs harsh in Cambridge !! Tui has only been out for tit bits to the neighbours & a wee ! Too windy & cold by far !! I will look out for Rebecca's book, I am into books for the young at the moment as I am taking Max some books when I go over in February, might be a bit old for him but good to read aloud ! Love the bit about Kensington, I think Gloria got the short straw...or did she , far more fun paddling in puddles !
Half my comment disappeared @happypat! It's aimed at age 2 I think but her previous one (The Deep End) was very popular with a lot of less than 2's that I know. Gloria tells us regularly that she's not spoilt enough...glad Tui isn't taking any risks ;0)
@judithg Have checked the books out & I did think The Deep End looked very good , I will order it !!! Rebecca should put you on commission , that's two you have sold tonight !!
Gloria's sister might be on a warm, dry cushion in Kensington, but Gloria has hundreds of people around the globe admiring her delightful pug mug standing in that wonderful puddle. Marvelous photo, Judith!
I'm now getting ready to log onto Amazon to order your sister's book for Harper.
@peggysirk Oooh thanks Peggy - I've told Rebecca that she's broken the American market faster than The Beatles!! Alas the talent doesn't lie within my genes - Rebecca is my friend & neighbour & occasional 365 stalker so she's very generous with the fact that I'm always stopping for photos - and I'm sure Harper will love her book!! Her next one is called 'My shouting day' in England and 'My No, No, No Day!' in America because apparently American toddlers don't shout. I'm looking forward to that one as it features the immortal lines, 'Ballet is tooooo itchy!'
I read Diana's post and thought she knew something about your family tree that wasn't mentioned in your photo narrative. Even though Rebecca is not your sister, I am thrilled to help start her British book invasion in the US. :) I look forward to her next one as well ~ "My No, No, No Day!" It sounds toddler-perfect. And you're right, toddlers in the states do not shout...many scream, most 'yell'. And I would have to agree, ballet is very itchy!
Great composition and editing! I hope the dog had a cuddle or treat from you for having posed in the puddle ;-)
Too bad, her books don't seem to be translated in French.
pug looking worried..
