Arts

I'm posting this so that I don't have to watch the hockey - we have to draw to go through to the semis and so far we're 1-0 up and I don't want to jinx it. @jannaellen will recognise this place on the Sidgwick Site of the University. The Arts Departments are based there and there are quite a lot of architecturally significant buildings - unlike the science areas which are a hotchpotch of different styles - improving recently but in the sixties they seemed to throw up some horrors.
Looks like the Barbican. Cool shot

@fueast Oooh - should be around then. Keep me posted and see if they let you out long enough for a beer. Lancs & Yorks owning these Olympics ATM!

@judithg Its true - and there's still a Leeds lass in the boxing I think.

Love these lines & oblongs, I think it has a very pleasing ambiance. funny I said to Harry today all the medal winners nearly all live in the north of England! Must be the air. If ever I am watching a game or match & my side is doing Ok I can't watch as I think it will jinx them! good Luck to our hockey players.

@cgould I've only ever walked through there three times in 25 years - I was praying the dog wouldn't stop for a poo!

Lovely architectural shot. Love the stairs seemingly floating there.

Love the near symmetry of the background and how the stairs break it up. Well seen. :)

@judithg So did you see that if Yorkshire was an independant nation we'd be 11th in the medal table! With lancs too we'd probably beat France.
August 8th, 2012
@fueast I did - I believe they were 7th at one point! And my sister was giving Leeds Uni the credit for the triathlon??
August 8th, 2012
@judithg Ah yes I think he quit Cambridge to study at Leeds.
August 8th, 2012
@fueast Yeah - no Sports Science in Cambridge - bet we're still 'claiming' him though!
