Spent the day in Birmingham, having a birthday lunch with Rachel :0) There are lots of places where interesting old and new architecture are juxtaposed - I saw many a great shot while whizzing past on Spaghetti Junction (a famously complicated motorway intersection) or the train. Here we have St Martin's Church with Selfridges in the background and a nice looking Thai restaurant in front. We chose Jamie's Italian and it was very friendly and we didn't steal any of his 'accessories'!
Three good things:
1. Lunch with my favourite daughter.
2. I do not live in a student flat even if it is fun when you're 18.
3. Tried a different kennels for Monty for the day. Closer to home, more flexible, less expensive and I nearly fell over when we walked into his large room which had both a dog bed and full size single human bed with duvet!! I didn't think we'd get him home - not surprisingly he was pretty relaxed when we picked him up!
Love this - so much for the eye to view! Patterns, reflection, texture, details. Excellent! Ihad to laugh about Monty - I probably wouldn't leave either! :)
@maggiemae £10/day or £16 overnight. Not bad given that they normally provide food (not for Monty as he has to have gluten free) and will have to wash that duvet cover!
This is a brilliant shot showing the old and new buildings in harmony. It sounds like you had a good day, and Monty must have also had a nice day too lol Its no wonder he gives you flowers !
@snowy Hahaa - yes he knows who to keep happy! He's looking askance at his basket now though. Glad Snowy is doing well and it does mean you can manage your new knee better.
What is that odd spotty thing, not Selfridges surely? Such an amazing mix of styles designs & materials in this one shot! You didn't drive through Spaghetti Junction ....braver than me if you did!!
What a fabulous treat, a lunch with your daughter & Jamies restaurant as well....would love to buy some of his blue & white napkins...£8 for four I believe!
Good for Monty, sounds like he has landed on his feet there!
@happypat Yes Selfridges - it's very 'organic'! Lovely inside tho better not on Saturday. I was admiring the napkins till they left fluff all over my black tights - yes I went skirt again but bigger tights!!
@phil_howcroft If I remember rightly I added the 'Reala' Film Stock option from PicMonkey which darken everything slightly - a bit much for the church but it made the metal shimmer.
Love the contrast of the arch against the wall and the clock. Nice pov, lots of good contrasts. Had a chuckle about Monty looking askance at his basket!
