To read a poem in January is as lovely as to go for a walk in June
Jean-Paul Sartre. Well sometimes it's as lovely to go for a walk in January as to go for a walk in June. It was a lovely day and I had the pleasure of the company of a lovely friend to enjoy it with. I thought I had a choice of shots but it turned out that I'd got sunspots on most so I came down to one. I'm late posting as I went to collect the boy from hockey training and feeling sorry for a few about to embark on long bus journeys I did a round robin of dropping off (you get loads of info from kids in the back of cars - much of it entertaining!) which made it a tight squeeze to get to book club.
Three good things:
1. The glow of pride among a group of teenage boys walking around in a customised jacket!
2. The nice young man who's fixing my boiler.
3. I've been recommended a good book about a photographer which may be a good start for a 365 book club if people are still interested.
Well that's a pretty scene and I like the mistiness. I read a bit of Jean-Paul Sartre when I did French A-level, I found him hard going. I like your idea about a book group - did you mean an on-line one?
1, A nice rural shot and I think i can see a bird's nest in the tree.
2. You are very generous to do a round robin drop-off of the hockey players (even if you did have the bonus of getting entertaining information!)
3. Having thought about the book club I was trying to pretend that I hadn't offered to organise it - and forget about it. I find it hard to imagine how it will work?
@busylady@quietpurplehaze Yes an on-line one Judith. I was thinking we could just suggest a book and people could sign up to say they want to join in. After a set time we could have a discussion thread where people could say what they thought and as Hazel suggested also perhaps have a little photo thing related to the book (either a competition or just a gallery). I don't mind organising it but my reservation is that I'm in two book clubs and spend too much time on 365 to read them all!!
@judithg Well your last point is also relevant to me as I run a French Lit group and am also a member of a second one - plus I don't read many books in English which could be a slight problem,,,,,,,,,
Heavenly lighting! Not posting or much commenting as Mom has pneumonia and I am staying with her - please think good thoughts for her to regain her strength.
@welshgirl@jgpittenger@sparkle I'll find my notes from last night and post a proper thing on Sunday when I get home. (It had West or East in the title Jane!) We could do it 3 or 4 times a year so it's not too demanding!

I'm a member of a book club for almost 20 years. Still enjoy it very much.
