At the quilt show

They are a bit funny about you photographing the quilts but I liked the overview from the neighbouring hangar especially with the Typhoon which my dad worked on in the background - and my mum in the photo! Sorry about the mass upload.
Three good things:
1. Rachel, Penny, Megan and Hannah :0)
2. Nice material with camper vans on.
3. The Rupert Brooke pub which had the ONLY table within a 5 mile radius of Cambridge and averted a disaster.
Great overview, Judith! Gives the feeling of everyone so busy checking everything out. So the quilt show was in a hangar? Are you a quilter?

Yes, are you a quilter Judith? Interesting juxtaposition of quilts and aircraft!
March 10th, 2013
What a super shot!!!! and rather amazing with an aeroplane in it too!!! Obviously quilting is a business with high industrial espionage!
March 10th, 2013
@barbsmith @tishpics No not me - my mum!

Weare regular visitors to Duxford and I didn't know they held exhibitions like this. Chris is ex airforce and he says, looking at your picture,,,,,the Typhoon is new exhibiotion. Looks like a great coloourful display. Fancy your dad working on it....he must have been pleased to see it!

Nice. Went to one of these in Amish country once. Great skill but requires far too much patience for me!
March 10th, 2013
Great overview shot. Lots of detail and colour. We have seen these quilts when in Canada, the work In them is certainly amazing. Your mum is certainly a clever bunny as we say!
March 10th, 2013
Surreal - Quilts and a Typhoon! But a very interesting photo. Would love the time to do some patchwork and quilting and visit shows!
March 10th, 2013
@fueast Too much skill for me - I like the old fashioned American ones best but there was a stunning purple/green one.
March 10th, 2013
@Cherrill He's worked on loads of them actually - we'd been here for years before we took him and he said, 'I worked on that one, I worked on that one, that one had dodgy landing gear.....' We were amazed!
March 10th, 2013
Looks like it's doing a good trade.
Material with campervans on? That sounds very cool!
March 10th, 2013
These quilts make a lovely colourful picture, I would have loved to have been able to see them .btw has Helen shown you the one I made for her putting in a lot of sentimental pieces of fabric in . ?
March 10th, 2013
@humphreyhippo I'm getting some more to make curtains - it's very lovely.
March 10th, 2013
@snowy No I'll have to ask her.
March 10th, 2013
@judithg Sounds fab. I'm still looking at this picture - trying to see if that's a purple hippo in there, or if I just see them everywhere. ;)
March 10th, 2013
@humphreyhippo must be the jd!! most of us see pink elephants..apparently!! What an extraordinary juxtaposition of 'stuff'!! I love craft shows, there is so much talent out there.wonderful
March 10th, 2013
Like you . I am in awe of those with the patience and skill froquilting .

I suppose they are wary of photos becuauseeach one is in effect a uniquework of art and they dont want copycats.
March 10th, 2013
@fannyb I don't think I'm imagining it - a third of the way up on the right, on the stand... actually, now I think of it, I haven't seen Humphrey all day. ;)
March 10th, 2013
@humphreyhippo no dear, thats a woman in a red coat!
March 10th, 2013
@humphreyhippo @fannyb hahaaa - I think Humph is right - large HH in party purple I'd say!
March 10th, 2013
Trying to guess which one is your mum & am going to go for the lady in the dark coat with the white bag over her left arm?
Fabulous picture of contrasting subjects....planes & patchwork, great opposites!
No worries re upload, we have missed you over the last three days!
Sounds a lovely weekend!
March 10th, 2013
@happypat Correct!!!
March 10th, 2013
Gosh people are really shifting about! I went to one of these fairs at Chillworth Manor a few years back. Amazing skill patchworking and such beautiful fabrics. If I had more patience and tolerance I would love to give it a go. Great shot
March 10th, 2013
@judithg @fannyb Thank you! ;)
I bet @jannaellen can see the hippo to. :)

Which one is your mum, it's a bit like 'Where's Wally'! Great shot, so diverse, crafting and aeroplanes!

Could do with an extra quilt today!!!
March 10th, 2013
Interesting combination -- quilts and jets. Hmmmm. . . .
March 10th, 2013
I love that you spent time with your mum doing things she likes, and got to see your dad's work again! This view shows so much activity and I really want to know what's for sale at the booth in the bottom left--everyone seems to be crowding it!
March 10th, 2013
A great idea to do an overhead shot - I didn't even take my camera with me - as I'm supposed to be taking a break! Didn't last long!!
March 10th, 2013
Did you see the long white/cream one with the blue circles - that was my favourite.
March 10th, 2013
No doubt that's a blanket bomber in the background.
March 10th, 2013
Lovely over view. So much going on, I like it a lot
March 11th, 2013
Quilts and planes is an interesting combination.
March 11th, 2013
Lovely hustle and bustle shot. Nice to see all the quilts too xx
March 11th, 2013
@anwan Must have had a deal on! @busylady With different shades of blue? Yes lovely - but my favourite was the lavender/green one at the end of the row.
March 11th, 2013

March 11th, 2013
