Well all my moaning about software issues the last couple of days have paled into insignificance in the face of major hardware meltdown. My just-out-of-warranty computer is being resurrected (hopefully) by the nice boys at the Apple shop for not insignificant amounts of money :0( So while the proverbial cat's away I'm using Adam's computer. I can't see the colours/brightness on it very well (probably because it's always a bit grubby) so I hope I've done justice to Rebecca's book. I don't think I'll spoil it by saying that Bella goes reluctantly to nursery, convinced that Bob is having much more fun with mum. Luckily not only does she end up enjoying herself but as we all know mum's aren't always very exciting people to be with especially when there's washing to be done!
Three good things:
1. Phones and iPads that mean I can still get e-mail/internet.
2. I haven't forgotten how to drive a manual car.
3. Nigel's little Escort will start in 3rd if I forget I'm driving a manual car.
Funny three things & I wish I could drive an automatic!!! Not your new Mac Air computer...well that is very disappointing & would have thought those expensive machines would go for ever!!! Just out of warranty...sods law!! Insurance job perhaps?
Lovely, lovely book from Rebecca, so colourful & nursery is always a good subject only thing a little girl again...Max would like a boy in the heroes role please!!!
@happypat Ah yes drat - 'Not on a School Night' and 'The Pirate House' have boy heroes but Max is going to notice that Bella isn't! I'll have a word with her about tractors ;0)
@judithg Good thinking but he has not got either of the boy ones...must check them out, I have been buying the wrong gender!!! Well that has put me right off mac Airs!!!!!
I love the layout of the cover, so appealing. Sadly my granddaughter is past the nursery age, but there's another grandchild of the way! I can't remember the name of the first book Rebecca published. Can you remind me?
Judith it's a nice book cover and a nice narrative to accompany it too..... glad you can still get your email.....although i sometimes think we get overload on emails...my phone vibrates in my pocket and i'm eager to read that email....it's Rebecca from Late Room's or is it Rebecca from alpha rooms offering me a fantastic deal !!!!
I'd always heard that Macs were indestructible. :(
I'm off to check Amazon to see if this new Rebecca P book is available in the States yet...would be perfect for Harper with baby brother, Will, about to arrive.
Good for you with manual transmission...I think I could do it in an emergency. But only then.
@jantan Ancient! @peggysirk I thought so too.... Not sure about US release date but it is perfect for big sisters who may be feeling just slightly jealous!
@judithg Amazon is such a wonderful thing. I was able to order direct from the UK and can expect delivery between May 11-16. Thanks for the heads up about this book, Judith...it looks perfect for a big sister-to-be. :)
@peggysirk Oooh great - that must be a new policy as we used to have to use Amazon.com for US delivery. Good on them - now if they'll just pay their taxes ;0)
I should probably read that book to comfort myself when Little J. is going "away" in September. My hubby retaught me to drive a manual ages ago (I have forgotten again now...) with his old car because I had to drive the boss's BMW at my internship but I hit the clutch way too hard with the new car being used to the old one. Very embarassing...
