Our visit to Florence coincided with the Calcio Storico which is a form of 'no rules' football played in medieval costume between the four traditional neighbourhoods. They set up a stadium in the Piazza Santa Croce to play in and although we didn't get tickets for that we were treated to a little bit of pre-match advertising. I speeded up my already somewhat frantic eating of melting ice cream outside the Uffizi to record the event for the 365 community - well it would be wrong not to. I was amazed to see so many young ladies with a keen interest in the sport which looked remarkably like rugby but without the fat ugly ones!
Well this is an excuse for a massive show off & don't they do it well!!
goodness me the mind boggles & I would think half the young ladies of Florence would have to be in town that day!! love all the colour & rippling muscles on show,,,not for me you understand though!
