Sort of. After the British Museum we moved on to the V&A (one of my favourites) and the Science Museum (they let far too many kids in ;0)). I'd booked tickets for an exhibition at the V&A called "Memory Palace'. It's the visual interpretation of a book Hari Kunzru - set centuries into the future after the digital world has been destroyed by a magnetic storm and knowledge and memories have been forbidden in a bid to return to nature. It reminded me of the 1984 type genre in which the leaders have turned into vicious manipulative dictators etc. I booked it mainly because they have invited world leading graphic designers, illustrators and typographers and I thought the artwork would be interesting (and it was amazing - no photos allowed sadly) but the story was also much more compelling than I anticipated.
We had to kill a bit of time before getting the 'off peak' train and stopped for a snack near South Kensington tube station. Safe under an awning we had fun people watching as the heavens opened. Warm rain is much more fun than the winter sort.
Three GT:
1. Diversity of artistic talent.
2. Free and amazing public resources
3. I've started painting the bathroom (so will be absent till a bit later as I need to press on).
I absolutely love this shot, they see, oblivious to the rain chatting and laughing. Love the fact they are dressed for summer and the fact the umbrella is so tiny. A lovely composition, firm FAV
Nice raindrop capture and the sweet couple are nicely placed and focused on making them clearly the main attraction. The back ground is perfect. Fav for me
i always like people shots in the rain judith....i was going to say this looks gr8 in monochrome, but you've retained the tiniest bit of colour in the image, which give it an almost faded retro look.
