Wednesday was spent primarily getting the car serviced and new-tired and punching my pin number into various garages card readers. Nigel has been putting in the miles visiting new clients (which is good - no clients is bad!) As we work from home we have been fairly sheltered from driving costs but no longer. In between times Rebecca and I pondered the necessity for posh women to snort cocaine. We move in circle where a G&T gets snorted now and again but we know that there are circles of middle class mothers who go for the other stuff. Weird - why would you want to spend money on that?
A random good thing - a man in the garage called Mr van Doors (not sure of the spelling!)
I forgot to say - the girl was suggesting all her friends contribute to a Christmas dinner rather than presents - hence the title. Good idea I thought!
Mr Van Doors! Excellent. My brother used to be a buyer for a big construction company and had a massive collection of business cards of people with funny names.
I really love this shot, it is so atmospheric and the composition and light are great - fav
I am not surprised that Cambridge has classy Christmas decorations. But you could say why would you want to spend your money on cigarettes? Legal - but if you think about it just as bizarre, unhealthy and pretty expensive and antisocial too!
i thought the shot title and the first few words were going to lead us into ......."making plans for Nigel"...I don't know if you are old enough to remember :)
Such a beautiful christmas atmosphere - made even nicer with the backstory. I've heard of mothers taking their kids' ADHD medication... For me, coffee is already a drug that gets me high as I drink it so rarely but I might have to go for it more often now that I'm working again...
A fabulous Cambridge evening shot...complete with Cambridge bicycle. I have a feeling that the push for elusive perfection might be fueling the need/desire for coke as a 'Mother's Little Helper'. Much less risky, cheaper, and more effective to get centered, find balance, and chill on reality...I could throw chardonnay and occasional naps in the mix too. :)
