I am going to working my way backwards through my Parisian photos I think - I didn't have so many today as we only had a brief time before breakfast and the train. Choosing from the rest may take some time. But as it's my first post I have to say how happy I was that Nigel, Rachel and I (Adam was in Barcelona with school) made it after the shenanigans with the dog. I didn't want to count my poulets until Monty had spent a night with our friends who had so kindly offered to take him as he can be an anxious soul and I didn't know if he'd settle. Luckily they have quite a bit of dog-sitting experience and all was well. Next time we visit Paris I'm hoping I'll feel confident enough about actually turning up to arrange a meeting with the wonderful @parisouailleurs. So - we made it to Paris and I loved staying in the Latin Quarter. We walked and walked and saw lots more of the city than we normally do and we could walk in any direction from our Hotel on Rue St Jacques and see another beautiful part of the city. This morning we headed up past the Sorbonne and had breakfast overlooking the Pantheon. A glimpse of another landmark in the distance - the higher apartments around the Pantheon must have amazing views in all directions.
Three Good Things:
1. A very good one - Jill and family for doing a great job with Monty.
2. Noticeable improvements in Monty's health - he's much less stiff and I'm feeling hopeful that the vet will suggest stopping the painkillers and a stay of execution on a 'big operation'.
3. Eurostar - Paris for breakfast, Cambridge for dinner and a snooze in between :0)
How wonderful to go to Paris for new year - and the weather looked good, if this shot is anything to go by. Great composition, with the tour eiffel in the background.
Oo get you in Paris. Almost looks like spring too. Glad to hear Monty is on the mend. He;ll be able to go out and cover the house in mud now youre back.
Paris - one of my favourite cities - I could go back again and again. This is a classic Paris shot with a subtle glimpse of the tower in the background
whaaaatttttt? you were in Paris and didin't told me? oh non I wish you had, I would love to meet you Judith. plese promice me that next time you'll tell me before.
@parisouailleurs I know - I'm sorry!! But I really wasn't sure I was going to be able to go until the last minute. We are hoping to visit again soon though so I'll be sure to let you know!
