Half term trip to Paris and the trains ran smoothly and swiftly - I'm a Eurostar addict. We stayed at the same hotel as our Christmas trip so we knew what we were at. On the way to meet Helene (@parisouailleurs) outside Notre Dame we walked over the 'locks' bridge which is the scene of much romantic activity.
Having successfully negotiated our rendez vue (no innocent photographers were accosted) we headed to a friendly bar/restaurant for drinks and gossip. A very splendid two hours - what a great site this is for forging friendships.
Three GT:
1. Young love
2. Old love
3. New friends
Love this!! And I love your three good things! Sounds like a delightful couple of hours spent with Helene...I couldn't agree with you more about 365 friendships.
Great shot! I heart Paris too - and I'm another Eurostar addict. Will you get the chance to see the Brassai exhibition at the Hotel de Ville? or the Cartier-Bresson? If you do my envy will know no bounds!
@exidia We went to the Cartier-Bresson - very good though we spent too long on the early 'not so good' stuff and not enough time on the later genius work! We didn't make it to the Brassai but @parisouailleurs has seen it and said it's really good. We needed an extra day!
Awwww. Good GT. The Eurostar is amazing. I luff it too - such a civilised way to travel. We're planning a trip down to the Dordogne for a wedding in late spring, and pre baby we'd eurostar and TGV and cycle there, but I just can't get my head round the logistics of doing it with a baby (mainly the cross-Paris connection) so we're looking at sleazy-jetting to Bordeaux instead and even the thought is wearisome.
@jewelsandbinoculars There was a man on the Eurostar home with three tots - one about two & a half and twins about 18 months. All squished into two seats and wearing co-ordinating headphones to watch something on the iPad. It was the cutest thing ever though I think mum had the right idea - sitting across the aisle with her own seat!
@judithg : Oh wow, and to think I stressed out about holidays with the two little ones in summer... Well, the littlest will be six weeks old so we decided to take a road trip to a lake nearby and stay there for a week. But next year I really want to take the train to the North sea - at least eight hours of trip.. ;)
