I've actually done some work today and have been paying the price for recent negligence but I did manage to sneak out on a lovely walk through Newnham with Monty. It was a very slow pootle which was fine - he had a hour of something interesting to do without going too far and I had a few photo ops. Birds with nest material, birds doing fancy courting displays (daddy dancing...), a pheasant about 3 feet away (missed entirely by my so called gun dog), flying swans all squandered by failure to correct settings and/or focus. I'm rather out of practise at the one handed-dog-walking action but it was fun trying. This duck sat still for me in rather nice light - obviously realised I was desperate. I've left some of the top leaves in - covered in mud so you've got an idea of water levels earlier this month - actually the water was a lot higher.
Four GT:
1. So much busyness amongst the birds and the bees.
2. A little sunshine in the afternoon burning off the fog.
3. Nigel home after a very busy trip away.
4. Book club lots of fun last night.
PS Out again governing tonight but I promise to catch up ASAP.
