I suspect this is a European invader ladybird but I'm not an expert. It was in the geranium leaf as I walked down to the greenhouse with it, potted it on to a bigger pot and walked back down the garden with it. I thought it would be typical if it flew off as soon as I got my camera out but it stayed - I'm assuming that it's actually alive!
Highlight of the day was lunch in the garden with Jeremy and Linda - their garden has featured several times in my project because it always looks amazing. It's a 'young garden' and a fine example of what you can do with a modern plot. Our garden is a fine example of what happens when you don't keep on top of an older plot! Anyway they don't think we should grow too much over our shed so I am going for a mooch around the garden centre tomorrow to find some climbers that are not too vigorous - no honeysuckle or Montana.
Three GT:
1. The weather was pleasant enough to eat outside despite threatening rain (rather a depressing forecast for next week though!)
2. Rachel's exams are finished - nice to think of her out enjoying herself instead of stuck in revising.
3. Adam's taste in music which in the whole is extremely listenable to. We are all loving Sam Smith at the moment who is sort of local (Saffron Walden) and friends with siblings of Adam's friends so we root for him a bit more than the rest - plus he's extremely talented!
It does look like a harlequin... from the white on its head. I like a weedy garden, much better than a neat and manicured look, and better for the wildlife :)
Yesterday a cat nest & tonight a ladybird nest! A very vividly coloured one at that.....think the ones with the larger spots are the In comers but not sure! My garden is disgracefully weedy...number two on my to do list! Lovely to sit in the garden at last..we had our lunch out today too. Thank goodness Rachel has finished her exams. Lydia & Jack will finish this week. Poor Lydia has three out of her four A levels on Tuesday...
