Having failed on the remembrance front yesterday I nipped into the American cemetery this morning. It's particularly beautiful at the moment as the trees are still in good colour. The groundsmen were busy sweeping up leaves as it's always pristine. I was thinking again of my lovely neighbour who, along with others, went to funeral after funeral for American airmen during the war so that they wouldn't be buried 'unattended'.
