Driving

An apt title all round. Nigel and I drove up to Birmingham to collect Rachel's stuff before she goes on her holidays. It could have been worse on the M6 as there was lashing rain during the nights before and after but even so by the time we got home I was glad it wasn't any further. It was very nice to have an hour or two with her before she leaves though. I got home in time to run to a meeting at school, run home to knock up the dinner and run out to the carol service which was very lovely. I then dashed off to meet 365's very own Steve Angell and spent a happy hour or so being taught how to take light trail photos. I have learnt to a) not worry about standing in a traffic island with a camera strapped to a lamp post and b) learn to drive my camera properly instead of it dictating to me. I've got far too lazy taking all my photos one handed with the dog in the other.
I meant to tell him that I was chuckling in the pub when we met because I used to have a colleague who always turned up whenever we had film crews at work (surprisingly often) and always got in the shots - and there I was in the pub with a TV cameraman and who should I see completely out of the blue but that same colleague - he must have a radar!
And do take a look at what Steve's been up to! http://365project.org/stevecameras/365/2014-12-11

Great trail lights. Sounded a great evening, social and a good teach in by the looks of your shot!

Great night shot - we're off to Birmingham tomorrow to see the "Quo" in concert - can't wait!

Great capture of trail lights, and shiny, slick streets

Wow, that's pretty impressive. Haven't got myself out doing this yet: perhaps we should have an outing together some time!

Wonderful light trails! Well done! Your 'colleague' reminds me of a dog I had who always got in to my shots! Didn't know he was around until I looked at the photo!

How brilliant . I keep meaning to have a go at this (tho I would probably bottle out of the roundabout/lamppost strap thing.) So funny about the ex colleague too
