I don't know if it's Caesar or not but it looks very noble and I feel sure a laurel wreath would have been in order. I realise I risk the wrath of people still busy Christmas shopping by saying that this is a limbo day - too soon to start all the Christmas cleaning and cooking but after most get ahead jobs have been done. So it's been lots of boring ironing for me (more in the dryer already...). I walked Monty on a route via a lovely door I had seen the other day - it took me a little while to track it down and he found half a pork pie and various other fattening things he shouldn't eat - drives me crazy. Anyway - I did find the door but this isn't it - this one won because it has an even more superior knocker. I'm a bit envious of these streets - not only are they near the river and on a rare hill but they have good community spirit - carol singing in winter and street parties in summer.
3GT:
1. The cat approves of the new sofa.
2. Our Christmas guests safely in the country.
3. Collecting the turkey tomorrow - then Christmas really starts.
Stunning Judith & I think Julius would definitely approve! Sounds beautifully organised at your house....I have no turkey....went looking for a small proper Turkey with legs as I like the brown meat but only massive big ones left! I only want a cheap frozen one to cook for us as we are out for our Christmas dinner......I will have to tackle Tesco or similar tomorrow. We do like a bit of cold turkey! Can we see your new sofa please?
Whoever he is he doesn't have much Christmas sprit by the look of it. Would you like to pop up and wrap my presents for me if you've got nothing to do...
Did you put this laurel wreath on the door from your words? Its perfect and Julius would have approved. Sounds a rich area that you are in - probably the top paid executives from the colleges who like to sing!
@maggiemae not particularly - and the college people are not well paid for the most part - the money is mostly south of the river and earned in banking and industry - but there's a lot of that - it's an affluent town due to high tech industries.
A very grand door:) I agree with you I was off work today so did pre Christmas ironing.....shopping done apart from collecting festive joints from M&S tomorrow.
I'm with you on today being a "down" day -- relax variety. Done with shopping, decorating, our Christmas turkey is smoked and carved!! Washed clothes today, about the only accomplishment. My list of day to day things to do for the past week lists some last minute things now, and that's it. We're ready for the family to arrive the 24th and 25th.
Not often you get the opportunity to post a 365 comment ken dodd style.... 'great knockers misses'. Not very pc fron me judith, but it is a great shot and well spotted and by putting the blame on ken dodd rather than me i get an out of jail card for none pc comment.
Btw, ken dodd was good on celeb mastermind last night.
Right back on task phil...faved shot, did u get any funny looks , curtains twitching when you took this shot of someones door ?
OK, I'm obviously a slouch when it comes to washing floors!!!!!!!!!!!
Well OK, perhaps it's because Jinks is 'half-size', although he's always bringing in scrunched up, dried up leaves on his fur!
