I went to clean out the henhouse this evening and found our first egg!! Laid by Powerz Dragon Slayer (presumably as it's white) it has appeared three weeks before I was expecting them to lay one. I've posted the whole nest box so you can see it's a little on the small side!!
Oh how exciting Judith ,they have soon started to lay !! Sometimes you can have hens for what seems like ages before they start laying ! well done Powerz Dragon !! Who is going to be the first to eat your own eggs? Pullet eggs are small to start with but will soon get bigger .
@happypat I'm making Nigel a tiny omelette as he built the run and made space for the house and I need to keep him sweet!! That Powerz is a flighty girl - good job she's not human, I'd have my hands full! Glad they'll get a bit bigger but she's only little still - I'm glad she didn't lay a big one!! I always thought they lay overnight - it's all a learning experience....
Hooray, you girl has become a woman!! I was so excited when out hens started laying, a rather disproportionate amount of pride, you'd think I laid it!! LOVE this.
