Beautiful rural shot! What a rich and fertile looking field ~ the colors are wonderful and the perspective here is marvelous. The cinemascope is perfect...looks like it could be the setting for a movie.
It's wonderful! So, all these rural shots...are these public or private lands...I am envisioning you and Monty sneaking through briars and brambles and hedgerows to get these fantastic views.
@bpaquette I was standing on a hill in a nature reserve in Cambourne (which is a completely new town just outside of Cambridge) with free rein for dogs so long as it isn't nesting season (ground nesting birds). The fields in the picture are private farm land with a public footpath going through - you can see the gate on the bottom left and the winding path on the left with a man on it. The fields are beautifully neat and well tended. The tree-line going across is not public access which is sad as it's beautiful along there! Pretty much all of our farm-lands and country estates have public rights of way which may or may not be popular with the owners - Madonna has famously been at war with the Rambling Society as she tried to close the paths on her land. She lost - the laws are clear - but you do get some paths that are deliberately neglected. I think there are financial incentives now (tax breaks or something) to encourage farmers to open more areas up.
Wonderful view & fabulous in cinema scope, you can see for miles !! Your soil looks lovely......dark & rich ! You are right about extra money to farmers from the Environment Agency. It is a scheme where by farmers are paid a certain amount to encourage wild life back to the country side . We were in Entry Level One were you don't plough right up to the hedges & only cut the said hedges every alternate year to encourage birds etc. If you went on to the next level amongst other things was making paths & allowing the general public on to your land for walks & to observe nature.
