Since I posted a dreary photo today I thought I would look wistfully through my Marrakech shots. This chap in the souk was wood-turning using his feet which seemed to be the local technique. I wanted to buy a beautifully made wooden spoon from an old man I saw working away but when we went back to find him he had gone and the chance was missed. Which just goes to show you should strike while the iron's hot.
@fueast Lucky you doing woodwork - we just did Latin. Did he poke you with the fingers - Nigel had a teacher with a fingertip missing and he used it to good effect for getting the attention of naughty boys.
@fueast I suppose you were spared being prodded by the teacher then! And there's probably only so much furniture you can make.... And I didn't do needlework either - or cooking - top set so we didn't need life skills.
I always manage to miss the perfect purchase due to never striking while the iron's hot! This is brilliant. I love shots that capture a slice of local culture xx
beautiful colours and details in this shot - I was top set and was made to do needlework and cookery and was evil enough to lead the whole class into a joint fail on both subjects because the teacher was so useless - and we reckoned if top set all failed, the headmaster might pay attention @fueast - and we're all dating ourselves it's D&T resistant materials, D&T food, D&T textiles - and you haven't lived until you've held the bits of metal and wood for an ADHD student next to the circular saw and pillar drill.
