Monty and I came across a very agitated mother goose with a gosling on our walk yesterday. I kept Monty on a very short lead and it soon became apparent that the problem was another 4 little beauties who were failing to follow her under the bridge. Time to snap this one as it emerged and then leave her to it. They were very vulnerable as there are a lot of dogs off-lead there. I left Monty in the car after our walk and went back to check them out. They were all safely back with the group but I still couldn't get close for a decent photo. Monty has just ruined a great shot of an enormous heron standing in our garden pond about 6 ft from the kitchen window - he saw it first and is now defending the garden!
Goslings are definitely the cutest baby birds. I'm glad you went to check on them again. I saw a hedgehog right on the side of the road .... the inevitable had happened by the time I got back :( Heron in the garden? Eeeek, I'd love the photo op but not my fish being stolen!
Lovely ball of fluff & you have caught the softness perfectly. What a worry for mum & glad you went back to check but how long will they stay safe I wonder ! Good old Monty doing what he enjoys, call him in for his tea !
Ooh would have loved to have seen the heron in the garden shot... but always difficult to explain what's OK to be barked at!
I hope you don't have fish... because now that the heron's spotted them ... you won't have for long!
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Great pov :)
Aaaaaaaahh!
Ohnooooooo!

I hope you don't have fish... because now that the heron's spotted them ... you won't have for long!
